A Wonderful Day!

On Saturday, Bryce and I had the privilege of attending a baptism of a man we met here in Nauvoo. He was drawn to Nauvoo like a magnet. He kept coming back and asking more and more questions about the church and our beliefs. The more he learned, the more he liked and wanted to be baptized. We are very happy for him and this important step. Elder Walton had the privilege of performing the baptism. It was a wonderful day!

The Last Sunset by the Mississippi 2015

The Nauvoo Brass Band was wonderful. Love those Young Performing Missionaries!

Announcing a band number during the 30 minute band concert before "Sunset" starts.

On the last night, the band leader let a Senior missionary conduct the band.

Fellow Canadian at the front of the children's parade at the beginning of Sunset by the Mississippi.

Everyone had fun at the children's parade.

Just before the National Anthem with all the kids on stage. Cute.

The closing pose of the first number in the show. Lots of fun! Looks like organized chaos!

Some of the YPM's (young performing missionaries).

This song was "All God's Creatures Have a Place in the Choir".

The bases have a "place in the choir" too.

Working up to the finale of "All God's Creatures Have a Place in the Choir"

Love those Young Performing Missionaries!

The patriotic salute.

Part of the "Emergency Warning System"

The beginnin of "The Audition" where 3 "randomly selected" audience members come to audtion for next years show of Sunset by the Mississippi.

Those "selected" for the "The Audition". The next pictures are part of that skit.

"What are you making?....E.g.g.s...."

"Doctooorrrrr"

"I'm dying....."

He's dyingggg...

On the last night they did "John Wayne style" in "The Audition" skit. It was western and very funny. It was the first time we had seen it.

John Wayne style in The Audition.

Three more of our amazing performing missionaries.

The performing missionaries just kept going no matter how hot the weater was! They were so busy and kept it up all summer. They were amazing!

Thanks to all of you!!

And so ends Sunset by the Mississippi! It was alot of fun and enjoyed by all who watched it and by the Senior missionaries who were in it!! The Young Performing Missionaries have now left. Their enthusiasm is missed and so are they!

Watch at Breakfast, Lunch or Supper for Spiritual Food!

Elder Walton and I were assigned to serve in the Visitor's Center two weeks ago. We met a man there who had been searching for more truth about Jesus Christ and why we're here on earth. He wanted to know more about the Mormons and our beliefs and was motivated to come here to Nauvoo from Iowa. He has now had a few discussions with the missionaries and is going to get baptized later this month. He's very excited!

Getting answers to prayers was a large part of this man's journey. I found an easy to understand explanation to how prayers are answered in the following clips on youtube. The only way I could figure out how to share them was to copy and paste the url. They are by Elder Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Three minutes each. Worth watching and in order, from the top of the list to the bottom. The 2nd and 3rd parts will probably show up on the right side after you watch the first clip. Enjoy!

"Our Story Goes On"

The core cast of the Pageants performed an extra show called "Our Story Goes On". It's message is about how our lives touch others and how our legacy carries on through our children and their children. The songs were all Broadway hits that were cleverly incorporated into the courtship, marriage, and family of one couple. It made Bryce and I think about our children and how much we love them.
